Adult Learners Week

 

Southampton Solent University helped the city of Southampton celebrate adult learning when it took part in this year's national Adult Learners Week.

 

Adult Learners Week aims to encourage people of all ages to take up a new skill and to show people just how many opportunities there are to learn and keep on learning.

 

The launch took place in WestQuay shopping centre and offered a taste of learning activities that are available locally for people thinking of returning to education.

 

Flower arranging, aromatherapy and an 'Art Asia' drum lesson were just some of the workshops on offer during the day.

 

Members of the Widening Participation Team were on hand throughout the day to provide advice and leaflets on learning opportunities offered locally.
