One of Southampton Solent University's strengths is the excellent training, consultancy, research and development and other knowledge-based services that we provide for business and industry, the public sector, the professions and the wider community.

Services are based on the professional experience, knowledge and expertise of academic staff, and a wide range of facilities and equipment available for hire and use.

Many local and regional organisations also benefit from working with our students through work placements, student consultancies and 'real life' projects undertaken as part of their degrees.

To the forefront of the University's services to business and employers is the work of our Warsash Maritime Academy, which is internationally renowned for the quality of its training, applied research and consultancy services to the maritime and off-shore industries.
