Tony ClarkTony Clark was elected to the Board in March 2000.  He is a member of the Resources Committee.
 

Tony was the senior official at the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE) concerned exclusively with higher education policy and funding from 1989 until his retirement in June 2000.  Since his retirement, he has undertaken consultancy work for a range of organisations in the UK, as well as with the European Commission, the OECD (with reviews of higher education in Denmark and Norway), the World Bank (with a review of higher education in Bangladesh), the British Council (with a speech in Harare and a review of universities in Libya), and the Sri Lankan Government (with proposals for a national plan for higher education).  

In 2008, Tony worked with others on the Universities UK project which examined the scope for further expansion of UK higher education over the next 20 years. He is also contributing in November to a Europe Asia meeting in Hanoi concerned with autonomy, governance and management in universities.
