Captain Andy WinbowAndy Winbow joined the Board of Governors in October 2001 and sits on the Remuneration Committee. 

After 12 years at sea as a navigating officer and then ship's master, he began a career ashore with the UK Department of Transport and later became Chief Surveyor followed by Chief Examiner of masters, mates and engineers in the Maritime Safety Agency HQ in Southampton.

After a move to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Andy headed the international implementation of seafarers training standards before becoming Head of the Organisation's Policy and Planning Unit. He is now Director of Administration at IMO.

Andy is a Master Mariner, and Fellow of the Nautical Institute and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
